My Cross

Easter Private intentions

Now and again we need to stop and reflect about life. We can easily get caught up in distractions that appear attractive and hope they will solve all our problems. And while we all know that life is great it can also be difficult. Plans and dreams fail despite our best efforts. Lent acknowledges these problems we face. Even Jesus had to carry his cross. And so, while He won’t take away the difficulties He will help us overcome them.

Life teaches that the cross will visit all of us. Tension around unemployment, financial problems, sudden sickness and medical tests, the future of our children, exam pressures, marriage and family misunderstandings, loneliness, emigration, unexpected bereavements enter all our lives at some stage. At that moment we may feel we are the only ones in such a plight and can feel overwhelmed.

In difficult situations like these Easter reminds us that we can turn to God. Jesus changed death into life and so no crisis in our lives is without hope. From Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday we will be remembering especially in our celebrations the worries and concerns of our benefactors, those areas of their lives which only God can soothe.

By post: If you would like a special private intention(s) to be presented before God during our celebrations in the Easter Triduum please contact us in Kiltegan and we will send you a My Cross Private Intention card. Then fill in your private intention (seal the card) and return it to us to be included in the Easter celebrations.
