May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

November 2017

As November (the month of the 'Holy Souls') approaches, we are reminded again of our deceased relatives and friends. Gone, but not forgotten, they remain in our thoughts and prayers. Our love for them reaches beyond their grave, and expresses itself in our prayer for their spiritual well being.

As missionaries we feel a special obligation to pray for our dead. They gave us the faith which we share with others. They have been our benefactors, supporting our work through their prayers and generosity. They have been with us on our journey - and we now ask the Lord to bring their journey to a peaceful and happy ending in His presence.

During November, we offer a total of 250 Masses for deceased benefactors, relatives and friends. If you would like to have your deceased relatives and friends enrolled in these Masses, download the form below, list their names and return it to us. Your names will then be placed on our November “Altar of Friends” as we hold them in prayerful remembrance before the Lord. In their memory you may wish to make a contribution towards the missionary work of the Lord.

As we pray together for our departed family members, friends and supporters we also remember those who have no one to pray for them. We ask the Lord to continue to watch over and bless you, your family, and your friends.

Let us pray for our bereaved:

Lord Jesus, our Redeemer, You willingly gave yourself up to death so that all people might be saved and pass from death into a new life. Listen to our prayers, look with love on your people who mourn, and pray for our departed loved ones. Lord Jesus, you alone are holy and compassionate: forgive our brothers and sisters their sins.

By dying you opened the gates of life for those who believe in you. Do not let our loved ones be parted from you, but by your glorious power give them light, joy and peace in heaven where you live for ever and ever. Amen.

May the prayers of Mary, The Mother of God, who stood by the cross as her Son was dying, help those who mourn. May she give them the comfort of her own faith and by her prayers, lead them on to the happiness of heaven, through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

God of the living and the dead,

You brought Jesus back to life.

Raise up the faithful departed,

And let us come with them

Into your heavenly glory.

Amen.
