Vacancy: Multi-task Attendant (Fulltime Permanent)

We have a vacancy for a Multi-task Attendant who will have responsibility for the following duties:

 

  • Responsibility for the cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene of the public areas that the person is allocated to maintain.

  • Management of all cleaning materials to ensure adequate supplies to meet the needs of work.

  • Familiarise oneself with any chemicals used daily – correct use, storage and disposal.

  • Ensure kitchenettes and changing rooms are maintained in a clean and hygienic manner.

  • Ensure rooms including bedrooms, classroom, sitting rooms and areas used by the society members are cleaned to a high standard.

  • Maintain a high standard of Hygiene and cleanliness in the laundry as per Care Unit policies regarding hygiene, infection control, health and safety and the safe handling of dirty and clean linen.

  • Clean/disinfect linen trolleys after they returned to the laundry.

  • Ensure all dirty linen bags are tied off and not overflowing.

  • Adhere to the laundry protocols to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.

  • Attending staff meetings and training as designated by supervisor/management.

  • Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines regarding the use of protective clothing including gloves, proper shoes etc.

  • Use Safe work practices e.g. correct food storage, wet floor signs, lifting etc.

  • At all times to have due respect for the property of individual society members as well as Society property.

Essential

  • Have obtained a standard of education as would enable him/her to undertake the tasks associated with the position.

  • Ability to communicate in spoken and written English.

 

Desirable

  • Worked in a similar environment within the last five years.

Vacancy: Chef – Specified Purpose Contract (30 hours per week)

We have a vacancy for a Chef whose responsibilities will include:

Role Responsibilities

  • Supervision and preparation of the cooking and serving of delicious and nutritious hot and cold meals, as and when required for residents.

  • Providing for special dietary requirements where necessary and taking into account the preferences of individual residents.

  • Ensuring statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.

  • Understanding and ensuring the implementation of the Home's Health and Safety, Infection Control and Hygiene policies, and Emergency and Fire procedures.

  • Assist the Catering Manager in the placing of stock orders when required.

Competencies Required​

  • Formally trained.

  • Fully certified in HACCP.

  • Comply with all Food hygiene regulations.

  • Have a background in management of a kitchen environment.

  • Fluent in English, speaking and writing.

  • Experience in a Nursing Home / Hospital environment an advantage.

Vacancy: Catering Assistant – Permanent (24 hours per week)​​

We have the following staffing requirements whose responsibilities will include:

  • Keeping all kitchens in a clean and hygienic state, including washing kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls.

  • Ensure that all floor spills are cleaned up immediately to prevent slips or falls, along with placing warning sign to alert other staff to risk.

  • Assist the Catering Manager in food preparation and food service.

  • Responsible for correct stock rotation (First in First Out) and storage of all food items

  • Correctly labelling food with use by dates and allergen information.

  • Taking and recording food and fridge temperature according to HACCP standards.

  • Ensure all areas and equipment being used are cleaned to a high standard.

  • Take every reasonable precaution to prevent contamination of food and to prevent danger to the public health arising from his/her work in the catering department.

  • Ability to deliver a high standard of customer service to staff and patients in a welcoming and approachable manner.

  • Maintain good personal hygiene and in particular practice good hand hygiene and adhere to infection control protocols.

  • Report any faulty or unsafe equipment to catering manager.

  • Undertake any further duties that may be assigned to you from the Catering Manager

 

Qualifications / Experience

  • Good oral communication skills. Ability to communicate with both customers/patients and colleagues at all levels.

  • A conscientious, flexible working style.

  • Good team working skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

 

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a similar environment

  • Good working knowledge of HACCP.
