Easter Sunday

Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead – the central element of our Christian faith and yet so difficult to grasp at times. Death is not the end, just a stage on our journey to perfect life with God. St Paul uses the image of the seed being sown, dying in the earth and yet producing abundant fruit – much more than the original seed.

Death is sad – indeed the bible mentions Mary Magdalene and the disciples as being sad at Jesus’ death. And yet joy takes over when they meet and recognise Jesus in his risen spiritual form. That is our prayer on this Easter Day – that we experience deep in our hearts the presence of Jesus who offer us new life out of old.

Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy and peaceful Easter.
