Yesterday, Sunday, October 2nd, at St Joseph’s Parish Narus, South Sudan, the Christian Community dedicated the Mass in honour of the late Fr Tommy Gillooly SPS who died on the 19th of July 2022. Today the first of September 2022, at St Paul's Parish, Sigor, West Pokot in Kitale Diocese, Kenya, a Memorial Mass was celebrated for the late Fr Leo Staples fondly called "Lokomol" – meaning the bull with brown spot, by the Pokot people whom he had ministered to since 1953. Cemetery Sunday took place in St Patrick’s, Kiltegan, on July 10th. Due to the pandemic, it is 3 years since families attended Cemetery Sunday. This year the families of members who died since then were invited. A Remembrance Mass took place, followed by the blessing of the graves. On Saturday, July 9th, Denis Zaki Agi and Emmanuel P.O. Maduabum were ordained for St Patrick’s Missionary Society in St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ikot-Ansa, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. The ordaining bishop was Most Rev. William Amove Avenya, Bishop of the Diocese of Gboko. Our congratulations and best wishes to Fr Denis and Fr Emmanuel and to their families.
